We would like to advise local residents that a temporary road closure will soon be in place on Dark Lane to allow essential highway improvement works to be carried out.
The closure is scheduled to commence on Monday 12 October and is expected to remain in place for up to seven weeks.
During this period, access to properties at the upper end of Dark Lane will remain available via Church Lane. The closure will apply from No. 19 Dark Lane (above the junction with Summerlands) for approximately 150 metres, extending towards the junction with Church Lane. Foot traffic will still be able to access.
Traffic management measures will be introduced where required, and we will work closely with our contractors to keep disruption to a minimum.
The works form part of the delivery of new traffic calming measures and improvements to the entrance of the new development. Once completed, these changes will help improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians using Dark Lane.
